Dynamat 1/4" Dynaliner Thermal & Acoustic Insulation
Dynamat Dynaliner is the perfect ultra-lightweight car insulation designed to be used as a second layer on top of Dynamat Xtreme. This durable, crush and tear-resistant thermal insulator has the highest heat-blocking properties available in a single-layer synthetic foam-type material.
Engineered specifically for cars, Dynaliner does not absorb water and is resistant to oil, making it the ideal choice for Land Rover Defender insulation projects where moisture and durability are key concerns.
Specification
- Material Thickness: 6.35mm (1/4")
- Sheet Size: 81mm x 137mm (32" x 54")
- Total Coverage: 1.12 sqm (12 sq ft)
- Weight: 0.41kg/m²
- Density: 64.6kg/m³
- Fire Classification: Meets HF-1 (Burning stops within 2 seconds)
- Thermal Rating: R-Value 0.83 (High-efficiency car thermal insulation)
By applying Dynaliner over your Dynamat Xtreme vibration damping material, you significantly improve the cabin's climate control and acoustic isolation. It acts as a thermal barrier that keeps your interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter, while simultaneously soaking up high-frequency engine and road noise. It is suitable for roofs, firewalls, floors, quarter panels, and doors.
Defender Insulation Guide For those kitting out a Land Rover, the amount of material required depends on your coverage goals:
- Defender 90 Roof: We recommend 3x boxes
- Defender 110 Roof: We recommend 4x boxes
Dynamat advises you'll need 1 box of Dynaliner for a 90 roof or 2 boxes of Dynaliner for a 110 roof. Note this doesn't cover the whole roof! While 1–2 boxes will provide a significant improvement, full-roof coverage ensures the best possible thermal performance in extreme climates.
Installation: Simply peel off the pressure-sensitive adhesive backing and apply it directly on top of the Dynamat Xtreme. Its flexibility allows it to follow the contours of the sheet metal easily for a professional finish.
